"Hong Kong Popular Culture" Relic Collection Campaign
Hong Kong Heritage Museum is in the process of setting up the Hong Kong Culture Gallery, which will narrate the development of Hong Kong's mass media, including radio, television, film and popular music, focusing on the city's popular culture. The exhibition will also showcase Hong Kong's diversified East-meets-West culture, society and people's livelihood, as well as popular culture-related designs.
The Museum is calling for donations of artefacts related to Hong Kong popular culture – such as magazines, historical photographs and relics related to radio and television; magazines, records, concert promotion materials, posters, programmes, costumes, lyric manuscripts and trophies related to popular music; and posters, magazines and trophies related to film – to enrich the Museum collection and to be used for research and exhibition purposes. We earnestly invite you to donate popular culture-related artefacts from different time periods to the Museum and join us in bearing testimony to the development of Hong Kong popular culture.
If you would like to make a donation, please send photographs (each photograph under 1MB) and basic information of the artefact(s), such as dimensions and time period, along with your name and phone number by post or email, as follows:
