Hong Kong Railway Relic Collection Campaign

Presented by Leisure and Cultural Services Department
Organised by Hong Kong Heritage Museum

The Hong Kong Railway Museum, which opened more than three decades ago, is the only museum in the city dedicated to the history of railroads. The museum is about to undergo major maintenance and improvement works, and we look forward to completing the project jointly with the people of Hong Kong. Whether or not you are a rail fan, we hope you will support this collection campaign.

We earnestly ask you to donate objects related to the history of Hong Kong's railway system to the museum, and join us in recording and compiling the history of rail transport in Hong Kong. The relics collected in the campaign may be used in future thematic coverage or displayed in the Railway Museum's revamped galleries.

Duration of Campaign:

June 2017 to May 2018

Scope of Campaign:

Objects related to the history of rail transport in Hong Kong, such as photographs and relics of the Kowloon-Canton Railway and its spurs; objects and photographs related to the Mass Transit Railway and the Light Rail; different kinds of tickets, commemorative tickets, promotional materials and posters of railway services; souvenirs; special publications or photographs of old stations.
