100%Red Visual Arts Exhibition
Function Place,
Hong Kong Heritage Museum 14 March 2007 - 29 March 2007
Organized by the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation and co-organized by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum
Sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and organized by the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation, the project provides opportunities for young people to enhance their understanding of different aspects of Chinese culture, including traditional Chinese folk crafts, painting, calligraphy and seal engraving, as well as traditional customs, political posters from the 1950s to the 1980s and contemporary Chinese artists. Targeted at over 4,000 primary and secondary students, the scheme aims to give them a deeper appreciation of Chinese traditional culture. What's more, by helping them create their own works of art, students are encouraged to discover Chinese cultural traits in our daily lives and then to demonstrate these traits through their own artistic interpretation, thus deepening their insight into the essence of traditional Chinese culture. The exhibition features around 1,000 works in various media, including paper cuts, plant dyes, brush painting and relief lettering. Other Past Exhibitions |
