One Hundred Years of Railway Operations in Hong Kong
Function Place,
Hong Kong Heritage Museum 09 October 2010 - 08 November 2010
This exhibition, which is jointly presented by the Transport and Housing Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government, the Kowloon and Canton Railway Corporation and the Mass Transit Railway Corporation Limited, and is supported by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, celebrates the centenary of railway operations in Hong Kong.
The exhibition traces the history of railway development in Hong Kong from its early origins to the present day. Contained in the exhibition are historical photographs, original railway artifacts and tickets, and train models, some of which have been loaned by former staff of KCRC. Also on display in the exhibition are selected historical items from the private collections of Mr. Peter Crush and Mr. Grimble Chu, who have also been kind enough to loan these items so that the public can enjoy the opportunity to share with them their passion for Hong Kong's and China's railway history.
