More Than Just Food - Ceramic Art Exhibition
Thematic Gallery (5),
Hong Kong Heritage Museum 18 June 2003 - 05 January 2004
What makes a "good" meal? Is it just good food? Or does the venue play a part? What about the people we eat with? The pleasure we get from a meal isn't just related to the simple consumption of the food on the table, it often has more to do with the ambience, with the company we share.
Then again, we are what we eat, as people are fond of pointing out today. A basic necessity, food is fuel for the body. But eating nourishes the soul as well. Suppose we added a dash of creativity to our daily lives, suppose we let our imaginations cook up a feast. This is what the art of living is all about - and every one of us can be an artist -, this is how we can get maximum enjoyment from our food. Artists Yokky Wong, Jakie Leung, Emma Chan, Lau Wai-ki, Ho Tai-kwan, Ming Ma, Terence Lee, Chris Lo, Law Hon-wah, Caroline Cheng, Johnson Tsang and Fiona Wong and gather in the name of "good" food and transform the gallery into a banquet hall. Exchanging their ideas about eating and creativity, they come up with some deliciously appetizing menus specially designed for each month of the year - as well as some delightfully imaginative food wares to serve them on. It's going to be a feast of fun, so come along and share their joy in the art of eating! Exhibit Highlights
