The Hong Kong International Poster Triennial is a major event hosted by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum at regular intervals to illustrate the latest developments and newest trends in international poster design. 453 works from 40 countries/regions were selected for the 2004 exhibition, which ended at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum on 20 March 2005. To Promote cultural exchange with mainland China, selected highlights from the Triennial's award-winning works were then showcased at the Guangzhou Museum of Art and the Shanghai Library, where they were well received by visitors, with total attendance reaching 58,514 in these two cities. Guangzhou and Shanghai are planning to exhibit the 2007 Hong Kong International Poster Triennial, and discussions on the logistical arrangements are underway.
