Jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Hong
Kong Designers Association
Organised by Hong Kong Heritage Museum
Hong Kong Heritage Museum has organised six consecutive editions of
the "Hong Kong International Poster Triennial" since 2001. Through competitions,
exhibitions and symposiums held every three years, the event has documented the
development of international poster design by showcasing and collecting outstanding works
from all over the world.
The Triennial competition was conducted in
accordance with the regulations and guidelines of the International Council of Design.
Designers were invited to submit posters that fit into four categories: Ideology,
Promotion of Cultural Events, Commercial and Advertising, and Thematic – "Touching". The
event has attracted 2,052 entries from 42 countries and regions.
The
judging panel comprises five internationally renowned designers: Mr Kjell Ekhorn from
Norway, Mr Kazunari Hattori from Japan, Mr Tommy Li from Hong Kong, Ms Ariane Spanier from
Germany, and Mr Niklaus Troxler from Switzerland. They have devoted a great deal of time
and effort to selecting 191 works for the shortlist and the final award-winning posters.
The result is a comprehensive overview of the characterful, fun and diverse creativity of
designers from around the world. The judges have also generously donated their own works
for exhibition and to add to the collection of Hong Kong Heritage Museum, providing
visitors with the opportunity to view the works of masters at the same event.
The exhibition catalogue is now available at the museum souvenir shop. Please
