Chao Shao-an Gallery, 1/F
21 September 2022 – 26 February 2024

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department
Organised by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum

Today, distance learning has become popular and commonplace, but can you imagine how Professor Chao Shao-an (1905 – 1998) instructed overseas students to master the art of Lingnan School of Painting, and how he passed on his painting skills and art experiences across the miles more than half a century ago?

This exhibition is a refreshing highlight on painting assignments by Chin Kee (1929 – 2012), a Malaysia based Chinese painter who trained under Chao Shao-an through correspondence between the 1950s and 1960s. The extraordinary display will help you see the art dialogues and actual exchange between the teacher Chao and the student Chin.
