Details of Programmes for September to December 2024 

Piece by Piece – Mosaic Workshop

Mosaic art is a technique that involves arranging small stones or colourful glass fragments to create intricate patterns. The instructor will guide the participants to craft their own distinctive mosaic artwork with the Mid-Autumn Festival as the theme, offering a fresh and original way to celebrate the occasion.

Target Children aged 6 to 12 (an accompanying parent is required)
Enrolment A maximum of 30 participants (15 pairs of child and adult) for each session. Enrolment starts on 12 August 2024 at 10:00 am and ends on 23 August 2024 at 3:00 pm. To register, please complete the application form for Education and Extension Programmes (download the form or apply online). In case of over-application, an open lot draw will be conducted. Successful applicants will be notified by phone.

Exploring Nature – Picture Book Reading and Plant Rubbing Workshop
Special programme for “Children's Discovery Gallery”

As summer fades and autumn arrives, nature undergoes seasonal changes. The instructor will tell a story from a picture book to spark the children’s curiosity about nature. The participants will then play games and use leaves collected near the museum to imprint their unique leaf arrangements on a cloth bag.

Everlasting Bloom – Pressed Flower Candle Holder Workshop

While fresh flowers cannot last long, those preserved through pressed flower art can. The instructor will introduce the art of preserving the fleeting beauty of nature and will guide the participants to combine flowers and compose designs to add a unique natural touch to an ordinary candle holder.

Merry Christmas — Ink Painting Workshop

Contemporary ink painting is no longer limited to traditional landscapes, instead emphasising innovation and a wide diversity of subject matter. The instructor will guide the participants to use various ink and colouring techniques to create a painting with the theme of Christmas, bringing festive cheer to their homes.
