I. “Creating from Wood, Renewing with Wood” Roundtable Sharing
This programme will bring together furniture designers, sustainable development advocates, woodworking craftspeople and industry representatives to examine the structural aesthetics of Ming-style furniture and traditional woodworking craftsmanship in relation to contemporary design, sustainable development, design education, cultural industries and green living.

The programme includes two roundtable sharing sessions:
Session 1 : “Creating from Wood: The Contemporary Value of Woodworking Aesthetics”
This session will explore the aesthetics of Ming-style furniture and contemporary “New Chinese style” design, the inheritance and public value of woodworking culture, and the transformation of the traditional value of new materials and design thinking.

II. Woodcraft Experience Workshop
Traditional woodworking craftsmanship requires patience, skill and collaboration. Mortise-and-tenon joints demonstrate the wisdom of ancient craftsmen in securely joining wooden components without the use of nails.
In this workshop, participants will learn about the woodworking and mortise-and-tenon craftsmanship. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, they will take part in a woodworking experience activity and gain insights into the wisdom and enjoyment of traditional woodworking craftsmanship.
