Internationally renowned megastar Bruce Lee (1940–1973) was born Lee Jun-fon, in the United States. Educated in Hong Kong and the US, he founded the Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute in the US and introduced Chinese kung fu to the American public through television and film. In 1971, he returned to Hong Kong and made five films, which became classics. He combined various schools of martial arts to create what is known as his Jeet Kune Do. Behind the spotlight, the megastar loved his family and enjoyed reading. He expressed his emotions and ideas in letters and other types of writing. Through daily training and reflection, he went beyond his limits and became a global legend.
Hong Kong Heritage Museum and the Bruce Lee Foundation joined hands once again to present “A Man Beyond the Ordinary: Bruce Lee” exhibition. Since its opening on 28 November 2021, the exhibition has warmly received by both local visitors and tourists, with highly encouraging results. Thanks to the generous support of the Bruce Lee Foundation, the exhibition has been extended until July 2029.
Alongside precious artefacts relating to Bruce Lee’s life, the exhibition features large scale fibre optic projections, interactive multimedia installations and animations. The Museum will also continue to organise a variety of programmes and theatre screenings to perpetuate the enduring charisma of this legendary superstar.
