This exhibition is jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and French May Arts Festival, jointly organised by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum and French May Arts Festival, and sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and the Mega Arts and Cultural Events Fund. Alongside a multimedia immersive experience specially curated for Hong Kong by the Musée du Louvre and the Grand Palais Immersif, the exhibition features Renaissance treasures from major museums and cultural institutions in France and Italy, including the Musée national de la Renaissance and the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana.
The exhibition comprises two sections. The first section, Meet Mona Lisa, uses cutting-edge technology to re-interpret Leonardo’s celebrated masterpiece, the Mona Lisa. In a refreshing and immersive experience utilising digital media and interactive installations, visitors will be taken on a journey across time and space to discover the Mona Lisa and appreciate it from new perspectives.
The second section, Portraying the Renaissance, showcases important Renaissance art treasures from renowned museums and cultural institutions in France and Italy. Included are four drawings and notes by Leonardo da Vinci himself, along with works by other artists of the Renaissance period.
