Unless otherwise stated, all special programmes are conducted in Cantonese and are free of charge. The Museum makes no representations on the content of the programmes. 1. Film Screening

The Birth of New China (1989) Film Screening

In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Museum will mark the occasion with the special tribute screening of ‘The Birth of New China’.  Produced by Changchun Film Studio in 1989, the film was made with documentary techniques to trace back the Three Major Campaigns all the way to the Founding Ceremony of the Central People’s Government of the People’s Republic of China held on 1 October 1949 in Beijing. The classic film was restored with 4K digital technology in 2019.

2. Behind-the-Scenes Tour of the Conservation Laboratories

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of China, the Conservation Office is pleased to offer a behind-the-scenes tour at our conservation laboratories in the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. Guided by our experienced conservators, participants will gain firsthand insight into the meticulous work in conserving and preserving precious Chinese artefacts. This unique perspective will deepen their understanding and appreciation of the rich significance of Chinese history and culture.

3. Dressing Up for National Day

Here comes our grand finale rounding up “A Path to Glory – Jin Yong’s Centennial Memorial, Sculpted by Ren Zhe” exhibition - Fans of Jin Yong near and afar are most welcome to dress up and show up in Han style in celebration of the National Day to catch your last glimpse of the exhibition and take vintage snapshots with your favourite Jin Yong novel character sculptures as well as on our seasonal backdrop.
